Bombardier Aerospace (Canada) enters Russia for JV with Rostec (Russia) to launch a factory to assemble Q400 regional aircrafts for the local market, its first assembly line outside Canada.
One of the world leading plane-makers, Bombardier Aerospace, and Russian state-owned company Rostec have agreed to launch a partnership that will roll-out 78-seat Q400 regional aircraft for the local market.
The partnership will see Rostec investing around $100 million in the construction of a factory in a special economic zone in Ulyanovsk region.
On its part, Bombardier will provide aircraft technology, design and intellectual property rights.
Rostec said all aircraft components will be assembled locally, beginning from 2016.
The planned new assembly line will be the only one of its kind outside Bombardier's base in Canada.
